Moonlight, the Academy Award-nominated movie written and directed by Barry Jenkins, won the Oscar for best picture.

According to the numbers published on Sunday, Moonlight edged out Gravity (12.5 percent) for best picture, while The Theory of Everything (11.4) and American Hustle (8.0) are closer to Silver (5.0) and Life (2.9).

Those three films are widely-respected nominees that have been nominated for the Oscar three out of the last four years.
